A federal agency needed to launch a new national healthcare platform but first had to pass a rigorous Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) on an extremely tight timeline for a system serving millions of citizens.
The Sagentix Solution:
Sagentix led a multi-stage SA&A (aligned with ITSG-33) as the Central Security Assessor, coordinating between government and vendors to identify and close compliance gaps. We went beyond the checklist by coaching the vendor on remediation and creating a clear Security Traceability Matrix for accountability.
Outcome/Impact:
The program achieved its Authority to Operate on schedule, enabling benefits for up to 9 million Canadians. Sagentix completed 7 major ATOs in record time, ensuring all security risks were documented and managed for a critical public-private partnership.
Case Study 2: Strengthening Cyber Governance at a Central Bank

One of Canada's central financial institutions needed to elevate its cybersecurity governance and policies to align with national cyber guidelines while coordinating with external regulators.
The Sagentix Solution:
Sagentix partnered with the bank's security team to design new enterprise security policies (in line with ISO 27001 and NIST 800-53). We facilitated executive workshops to ensure buy-in and liaised with the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS) to align with national best practices.
Outcome/Impact:
The bank formally adopted a new API Security Standard, strengthening its security posture and stakeholder confidence. Our collaborative approach helped bridge internal silos and embed security into the bank's strategic priorities.

Challenge
A cloud solution provider needed to obtain a critical security accreditation (AWS GSCA Badge) under a tight deadline to unlock a major government contract.
Solution
Sagentix performed a rapid gap assessment and implemented an ATO Accelerator approach, mapping out required controls and coordinating with external auditors. We leveraged insights from a prior AWS Governance Competency project to help the client achieve the AWS Security Competency badge.
Impact
The client successfully earned the AWS security badge, giving them a competitive edge and a key "tiebreaker." The compliance process went from a blocker to a sales enabler, thanks to our streamlined approach.
Case Study 4: Business Model Turnaround for a Tech Startup
Challenge
A software startup had an innovative product but struggled with slow sales and wasn't sure if it was a marketing or product-market fit issue. They needed to find a way to start growing.
Solution
Sagentix conducted market research and "Jobs-to-Be-Done" interviews with the startup's customers, discovering an unserved need the product could meet with minor tweaks. We then revamped the startup's value proposition and marketing strategy and mentored their team on executing a targeted campaign.
